LG to release Android 10 Beta update later this month

LG Android 10 Beta

LG mobile isn’t exactly known for releasing fast and timely Android updates, but all that might be changing pretty soon, as the Korean firm has announced an LG OS Preview program for its smartphone range. The preview program which will bring Android 10 to a number of LG smartphones is at the moment only for its home market, Korea, as the firm has yet to make plans for the international rollout.

First on the list of LG smartphones getting the Android 10 Beta preview is the LG G8 ThinQ,  which will be closely followed by the LG V50 ThinQ 5G and the LG V50S ThinQ  5G. You can be part of the beta program by signing up via the LG Quick Help app and wait for an OTA update. Following a successful Beta preview, LG mobile as per its press release will seed out the stable build of Android 10 before the end of the year.

Gizchina News of the week

No words on an international rollout at the moment, though there are chances other parts of the World might be next to get the update, perhaps, in early 2020.

While a number of OEMsalready started seeding the Android 10 update to their smartphones, the latest move by LG is commendable, even though it appears to be an attempt to once again convince its teeming fans it is now more committed to releasing timely updates. But that would depend on whether r not it extends the update to the mass market, and ot limited to its home market.
