The Progressive Web Apps (PWA) are web apps that can provide many of the same features as native apps, including notifications and offline support. They are a very valid tool for those who want to try or use an app on Android devices without the need to physically install it on the device. They were first launched by Google and are now being adopted by Samsung.
Samsung is not new to the Progressive Web App. Because it has already proven to implement them in its browser for Android devices, the Samsung Internet Browser. In the last hours, Samsung would have confirmed its intention to expand the web apps also to its Galaxy Store, alongside conventional apps.

In this regard, developers interested in integrating their web apps in the Samsung store can send the South Korean URL of their we apps. The company will help them list the app on the Galaxy Store. In addition to providing assistance with all the necessary paperwork.
Developers could previously submit PWAs to the Galaxy Store inside a WebView wrapper. But Samsung’s sanctioned implementation is a bit different. It only wants developers to provide URLs of their web apps. And doesn’t want to make them write a separate APK for them. This can save a few hours’ worth of work for developers. Whether or not Samsung changes this down the line remains to be seen.
Currently, the web apps are already available in the Samsung Galaxy Store, but exclusively in the United States. Samsung plans to extend them to other geographical areas in the future.
