The Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro (review) are two of the best smartphones of 2019. They are also the first budget smartphones to sport Sony’s 48MP IMX586 sensor in India. These phones launched with MIUI 9 based on Android Pie and were later updated to MIUI 11 a few weeks back. And now, according to a post by a moderator on Mi Community, Android 10-based MIUI 11 update for Redmi Note 7 series could be released globally within one to two months.
Gizchina News of the week
A moderator with username Amsti on Mi Community surprised everyone by posting a thread announcing the development of MIUI 11 based on Android for the Redmi Note 7 series. According to his post, Android 10 development for the said phones is in works as per the information in a closed section of Chinese Mi Community. However, the release of the first closed beta builds is unknown at the moment. But going by the previous records, the first public beta release might happen within two to three weeks. Do note that these will be Chinese MIUI builds without GMS(Google Mobile Services) and other features exclusive to China.
Since the weekly global beta updates for MIUI has been now discontinued, we can expect the stable MIUI 11 based on Android 10 to start rolling out to Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7s, and Redmi Note 7 Pro within one to two months or maybe even more because of any unwanted bugs or performance issues.
