The FAEA F1 has been finally launched in China with a retail price of 799 Yuan ($130), making the Meizu MX2 clone one of the most affordable 720p, NFC equipped phones on the market.
FAEA released the F1 last night confirming specification details, pricing and the launch date. As noted yesterday the F1 is a 4.5-inch Android smartphone which has the same design and similar manufacturing process as the Meizu Mx2.

The display is a 720p IPS unit which is driven by a Snapdragon S4 MSM8225Q CPU, 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM. An 8 mega-pixel sits on the back of the phone which is also where you fill find an 1800mAh removable battery, dual SIM support and NFC sensor.
Pre-sales for the 799 Yuan F1 will begin on May 27th. International resellers are likely to receive phones mid June.
This SoC, like the Snapdragon 200 models (truthfully, they are probably the same chips, as every single spec is the same), is less powerful than the MTK6589, but also cheaper.
I’m not sure how powerful the Cortex A5 exactly is, but it’s surely a few notes below the MTK A7 one, so take that in mind for both this phone and the announced HTC one (with the Snapdragon 200).
The Jiayu G3S comes at the same pricepoint and will probably be more sought-after.
You can’t really say that a SoC is less powerfull than some other SoC just based on the fact of being diferent IP cores. fab process matters a lot, also what other components you pair with the SoC.
Nah the qualcomm SOC in question here is quite bad, specially the GPU and that too with a 720p screen. Btw I see only 2 plus points of this phone NFC and a fairly good design albeit borrowed from other phones. But the battery of 1800mah is just not good enough also the processor, they should have gone the Meditek route. But as pointed out by Andi in another post, the company seems to be doing things right, so lets see. A phone that you can use today is surely better than something that you hope to use in 6 months.
Quad core it’s more than enough for mostly everything now.
But how will the GPS connection be?
Is this a part of the SoC? Because if that is the case, this might mean it is much better with the GPS then all the MTK devices.

Does someone has information about rooting? Got the phone but it’s not rooted and I can’t find anything on the web.
@GPS Ooh GPS: It’s as good as the signal in my Motorola Defy. Same for Wifi.
