After finishing the Android 10 beta program for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series, Samsung shifted its focus to delivering the update for the 2018 flagships. Before the end of the year, we saw the company seeding the stable One UI 2.0 update for the Galaxy Note 9 owners who were enrolled in the beta program. During the last week, the company extended the update to all users. Now, the Korean firm still needs to deliver the update for one more flagship, the Galaxy S9. We believe that Samsung will reach this goal soon since a new build is rolling out for both Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones.

The first beta update for the Galaxy S9-series came in late November. Since then, the company has been pushing a couple of updates with bugfixes and enhancements. Today, another of these updates is reaching the S9 series and it brings the latest January 2020 security patch. Apart from the recent security patch, the update consists mainly in bugfixes. It resolves an issue with the Secure Folder locking out some users and removes the unwanted sound when performing sound quality optimizations. It was present when headphones are plugged into the 3.5mm headphone jack or the USB-C port.
Furthermore, today’s release also brings a ton of improvements for the camera quality. Last but not least, it also enables Motion Recognition when Navigation Gestures are active. Users who are part of the beta program can try to search the update manually through the Settings menu. Worth noting that the update should take some days to reach all users. It’s a small update and weighs just 112MB.
