2019 models without EMUI 10?

EMUI 10

Gizchina News of the week

Thousands of users have decided to contact the customer service team directly. In order to find out if their phone will receive the expected update of Android 10. The representatives of the different Huawei channels around the globe have responded to almost all messages, resulting in the confirmation of a wide list of devices that, because of incompatible hardware, will not receive the software update.

From this list; there are mobiles that we expected not to receive the update package but others have surprised us, as is the case of the Huawei Y9 of 2019. The model launched last year runs out of EMUI 10, something incomprehensible when last week we saw how the Huawei Y9 Prime of 2019, with almost similar hardware, did receive the update to Android 10 through HiCare.

Although there is still no confirmation, this would put an end to the hopes of all the owners of smartphones of the Huawei Y range that, as much as we told last week, we expected them to receive EMUI 10.

We understand your interest in EMUI upgrade. Please be informed that we have roll-out our EMUI upgrade plan for all the devices. For your device we will continue to provide regular security updates and necessary update enhancing devices to perform at optimum level. For more details kindly stay tuned to our official pages. We appreciate your cooperation, understanding, and patience” Honor India.

All Samsung devices receive TWO MAJOR release updates for two years even for mid and lower-range phones while Samsung NEVER claimed that its hardware is ‘incompatible’!

It’s silly to claim the hardware is incompatible with latest android release while other phones with exact similar specs receive it!

Well, I guess it’s time to move to other brand (i.e. Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi) they give their customers better and longer (while being honest!) support.

Besides, I feel this company is dying slowly anyway with all the western ban troubles it has (it might be the real reason behind this move and might effect other models in the future when it comes to updates for newer phones from this company).
