Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun said, “We even set up an IoT platform department two years ago to specifically address the interconnectivity of IoT. Recently everyone also knows that our experimental factory is ready for opening. However, the epidemic situation is slowing things down but our experimental project is highly automatic. The first phase in Yizhuang is complete, we are building the next-generation fully automated factory. “
According to reports, the factory will use technologies such as automated production lines and 5G network to greatly increase production efficiency. It will automatically produce 60 smartphones per minute, which is more than 60% higher than traditional factories. However, an official statement from Xiaomi says that the Yizhuang plant is a trial plant. This means that it is not yet ready for the mass production of mobile phones.
With respect to the Xiaomi Mi 10, Lei Jun said that the epidemic situation did not affect its production capacity. However, the production factory is currently not open. This means that the Xiaomi Mi 10 series may run out of stock in a week or two.
