LG W10 Alpha: the cheapest LG mobile is official

Yesterday LG revealed several devices for the new mid-range of 2020. Everything was scheduled for the company’s new devices to be seen in the MWC 2020 for the first time, something that could not be after the cancellation of the event. For this reason, LG has decided to present its new devices online. Today we have to talk about another device that the South-Korean company has announced. This is the LG W10 Alpha, a device for the entry-level range with a very low price and quite modest specifications. The international expansion plans for this model are unknown.

It is a device that will see the light for the first time in the Indian market and that can step on other markets later. India is still an emerging market and therefore different manufacturers have a catalog of basic devices with low prices. Of course, LG situation is very complicated when it comes to fighting with Xiaomi, Samsung or Realme.

This device has just been made official on the LG page. It belongs to the W series presented in 2019 by the company and is consolidated as one of the cheapest mobiles in the entire catalog of the company. Its direct competitors? Devices that are around $100 from brands like Redmi, realme or Samsung.

Design and features of the LG W10 Alpha

The device has one of the simplest designs of the moment. Its rear part only has one camera sensor and an LED flash. In the front, you can see a notch and a rather strange lower bezel. In some images this bezel is normal and in others, it is extremely large. It seems that LG wanted to hide the size in some press images.

Gizchina News of the week

There is no fingerprint sensor or anything that attracts attention in the design of the device. But it is not only a basic device in design, but also reveals its lack of features.

  • 5.71-inch screen in HD+ resolution
  • Spreadtrum SC9863 processor
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 32 GB of internal storage
  • 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • Plastic body
  • No fingerprint sensor
  • Bluetooth 4.1, GPS …
  • 3,450 mAh battery
  • Android 9 Pie

It is only available in black and one of the features that attract the most attention is its processor. It is likely that you do not know the manufacturer Spreadtrum, as there are very few manufacturers that use these processors. They are not very powerful and we don’t know if this chip can offer a decent user experience.

Price and availability

The device is now available in the Indian market and we will have to wait to see it in other markets. The price is at Rs. 9999 (about $139). It’s a low price, but in the market, there are options with a quality/price ratio that are well above the price range of this LG W10 Alpha.
