With its new One UI software, Samsung is trying to improve one-hand usage, multitasking and overall user experience. Samsung Windows OS Like Buttons Allows You to Restore, Close and Minimize Apps
As per the new patent, the company might bring a Window OS like button system to easily close, restore and minimize the application. The new button UI will sit on the rounded edges of the screen. It seems like the button is going to be draggable from one side to other as per the users’ convenience. The images from the patent showcase the feature on a big screen device, most likely tablets. With that said, we might see the same feature coming to the smartphones as well.
Gizchina News of the week
It would be interesting to see whether a new feature like this will make the entire multitasking experience faster or not. Samsung filed for this patent on October 16, 2017, at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), The patent has been granted to the South Korean company earlier today. Sadly, the patent doesn’t talk about any other software feature.
It is worth mentioning that just because a company files for a patent doesn’t mean that it might end up bringing it in reality. This means that the new feature might not make its way to the future releases of One UI at all. For those who’re unaware, the current version of One UI 2 works great with smartphones, tablets as well as on foldable devices. The all-new UI is much cleaner and offers a smoother overall experience. Furthermore, it has less number of bloatware apps installed.
