Reuters reports that Nokia said on Thursday it had formed a partnership with Intel to accelerate Nokia’s transition to 5G. It is working with multiple partners to support the ReefShark series of chips that many base stations are using.

Apart from this, Nokia has announced a strategic partnership with Marvell. The two companies are developing a new generation of custom system-on-chip (SoC) and processors. They combine Nokia’s differentiated wireless technology with Marvell’s industry-leading multi-core Arm processor platform. These solutions are able to reduce size and power consumption. Plus, they increase capacity and overall performance.

Marvell’s multi-core Arm processor technology is based on the previous five generations. Its programmability and excellent performance can make Nokia ReefShark chipset a major improvement. Nokia will continue to work with Marvell to meet the complex needs of 5G NR, 5G NSA, 5G SA, etc.
