Apple to shut down all its stores outside China until March 27th

The coronavirus epidemic is now a global pandemic that is ravaging different parts of the world. Presently, it is not really safe to have contact with a huge crowd, especially for international travelers. Since the first case of this virus, it has continued to spread. Even when the figures started declining in China, it did not stop new cases from arising in other regions. To this end, Apple is closing all of its retail locations outside of Greater China until March 27. The company is taking this decision because of the continuous spread of this virus.

Apple stores will shut down for two weeks

According to Apple, it is trying to maximize social distance and reduce population density. This is an effective way to minimize the risk of coronavirus transmission. As of now, all Apple stores in Italy and Spain are under locks. Now, its rest stores besides those in China will be joining. The company said in a statement

As of today, all of our stores in Greater China have reopened. I also want to thank our operations team and partners for their remarkable efforts to restore our supply chain. What we’ve learned together has helped us all develop the best practices that are assisting enormously in our global response.

One of those lessons is that the most effective way to minimize risk of the virus’s transmission is to reduce density and maximize social distance. As rates of new infections continue to grow in other places, we’re taking additional steps to protect our team members and customers.

We will be closing all of our retail stores outside of Greater China until March 27.

For now, the company offers the online option for all purchases. Buyers can either use Apple’s website or the Apple Store app. In addition, Apple has drawn out a good incentive plan for all its workers especially those affected by the virus.
