Early this month, Oppo took the wraps off Oppo Find X2 and X2 Pro. Today, the company’s VP, Shen Yiren, addressed the company’s fans on Weibo and apologized for the mistake they’ve made on Find X2’s product page. The glass and ceramic versions of the Find X2 have been listed with lower than actual weight on the product page. That’s not a big deal, we know, but apparently, some buyers are feeling cheated.
The glass Find X2 phone has been listed with a weight of 187g. The handset weighs in at 192g. When it comes to the ceramic version, we have a higher discrepancy. The handset is listed with 196g while the actual weight is at 209g. The Oppo Find X2 Pro ceramic edition was also listed with about 10 grams of lower weight.
Gizchina News of the week
We have to say again that it doesn’t seem like a big problem. In the worst-case scenarios, it was just a bad marketing choice. If you’re feeling cheated, the company is offering a refund. If you bought any of the two flagships but changed mind because they are heavier than expected, you can have a full refund. It’s great to see that Oppo isn’t coming with a simple excuse and is taking responsibility. Now we are curious to see if customers will take advantage of this offer.
Would a 10g weight difference change your mind about a smartphone?
