Google Android 11 launch will have to wait

“Out of concern for the health and safety of our developers, employees, and local communities — and in line with recent ‘shelter in place’ orders by the local Bay Area counties — we sadly will not be holding I/O in any capacity this year,” Google said in a statement on the I/O website. “Right now, the most important thing all of us can do is focus our attention on helping people with the new challenges we all face. Please know that we remain committed to finding other ways to share platform updates with you through our developer blogs and community forums.”

Google usually launches software updates at I / O conferences and sometimes releases new hardware products. At last year’s conference, Google introduced software updates for Android and Google Search. It also released the Nest Hub Max smart display and Google Pixel 3a / Pixel 3a XL phones.

The most attractive part of this developer conference is that the company was to announce Android 11. We would have heard more about the new features and upgrades and these will be official information. However, it appears that we will have to stick with what we have from the developer’s preview.

New features on Android 11 include APIs for punch-hole and waterfall screens, floating chat bubble functions, one-time permission for location, microphone, and camera permissions, etc. We also have features like Motion Sense gesture and upgrades to screen recording. As of now, there is no official date for the launch of Android 11.
