We can pretty much say that with the release of Honor 30S today, Huawei has completed its schedule for March 2020. This month the company also revealed its flagship series in the form of Huawei P40 devices. Now, the Chinese firm is expected to start April with the release of Huawei Nova 7 series. According to reports, we’ll see three smartphones – Nova 7 SE with Kirin 820 5G, Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro with 5G connectivity. Apparently, this new lineup will also mark the arrival of a new Huawei’s SoC dubbed Kirin 985.
Gizchina News of the week
To give power to the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro official reports have been pointing the Kirin 990 5G SoC. Now, a new report states that the Huawei Nova 7 will actually debut with a new chipset. It will be called Kirin 985 SoC and also comes with an integrated 5G modem. As the name suggests, this chipset should be slightly below the 990 and far beyond the Kirin 820.
Reports about this particular SoC appeared in the last year. However, it still didn’t see the light of the day. According to previous details, this chipset boasts 7nm+ EUV lithography process. Moreover, it will be paired with the Balong 5000 modem for seamless 5G connectivity. The Nova 7 Pro should still come with the Kirin 990. After all, the Nova 6 5G ships with the Kirin 990. So wouldn’t make much sense for Huawei to release a new Pro variant with a chipset that is less powerful.
