While the COVID-19 virus truly went global in March, it also went past its peak at the epicentre where it all began Wuhan, China. And thus, the country is now opening up from lockdown resuming all operations. In terms of smartphone launches, here are the ones that are confirmed to be taking place this month. The April launch list is mostly centred around the Chinese industry.
Honor Play 4T
Honor is expected to release the Play 4T series on April 9th. There will be a Pro model as well and we expect these to succeed the original Honor Play.
OPPO Ace 2
The OPPO Ace 2 will succeed last year’s OPPO Reno Ace, but it looks like we might see the Reno branding axed from it. The USP of the device will be cutting-edge fast wired/wireless charging capabilities. The launch is on April 13th.
OnePlus 8 series
Gizchina News of the week
Everybody has been expecting this one. And after a few delays, it’s finally happening. The China launch is on April 16th but the India launch is before that on April 14th. As far as features and specifications go, I don’t think there’s much need to talk in detail here. Here’s our coverage.
Honor 30
This is another big one. After the Huawei P40 series, this is the next most powerful flagship from the house of Huawei. The Honor 30 will be gifted the powerful camera hardware of the P40 series, at least most of it. The China launch is on April 15th.
Meizu 17
We also expect the Meizu to launch this month itself, if not on April 15th and this will be their flagship 5G device.
Huawei Nova 7 series
This is a premium mid-range series from the Chinese powerhouse. It will likely comprise of three models – Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G, Nova 7 5G, Nova 7 Pro 5G. The launch is on April 23rd.
Besides these confirmed products, it’s very likely that we’ll see more announcements from brands like OPPO and others as we head into the second week of the month. Stay tuned!.
