We have just received these exclusive spy photos of the new white International Zopo C2 sporting the new, faster quad-core MT6589T Mediatek processor.

It’s always a nice surpise to wake up and find an email full of spy photos but it is even more so when the phone being leaked is actually an international version of a popular Chinese phone with updated hardware!

The Zopo C2 has already been selling like hot cakes since it’s launch earlier this year, but now with a faster 1.5Ghz Mediatek MT6589T SoC on board it is likely to jump to the front of many Android phone fan’s shortlist.

Gizchina News of the week

In addition to the new SoC our sources at Zopo have also confirmed that the International version of the Turbo Zopo C2 will have 16GB ROM, a Gorilla Glass 5-inch 1080 display and a newly designed battery case!

Zopo C2 MT6589T International updates

  • 1.5Ghz quad-core Mediatek MT6589T processor.

    WTF 16GB RAM ?!!!

    • June 15, 2013

      ROM

  3. June 15, 2013

more like 16gb rom anyway the black zopo c2 version has been released in china for about a week already. I am just waiting for someone to release the android 4.2 rom to flash on it

is zopo c2 and zopo zp980 same??

    • June 15, 2013

There are 3 versions of zopo c2 and 1 version of zp980
      C2 : 1gb ram + 4gb rom(mtk6589) 1gb ram +16gb rom (mtk6589t) and 2gb ram+32gb rom (mtk6589t)
Zp980 1gb ram +16gb rom (mtk6589) also the zp980 is the international version of the zopo as it comes preinstalled with android os which in china they do not provide, the back cover is also slightly different finishing compared to the 4gb version. Otherwise they are pretty much same specs

      • June 15, 2013

where did you find c2 with 2gb ram? i want one 🙂

      • M M
        June 16, 2013

I read somewhere that c2 screen is much inferior than zp980. Is that true?

        • June 16, 2013

I have heard that the C2 doesn’t use the same Sharp display, but this might be different for the new model

Thanks! Now we are waiting for your detailed review

            • June 17, 2013

I’m excited about this one! Hopefully the C2 and the iOcean Elite will arrive at the same time 🙂

I have C2 and did side by side compare with zp980 – didn’t see ANY difference in the screen quality. Else, I believe, indeed they are different as stated above, since the zp980 screen is sitting bit higher in the frame of the phone.

    • Simon
      June 15, 2013

      No they are different phones.

    • June 15, 2013

Besides the above specs, the screen on the zp980 is better quality apparently.

  6. June 15, 2013

I don’t know if this helps or hinders.

    • June 15, 2013

Thanks but i am not sure if it works as the processor is MTK 6589T and not the normal one. I am not sure if it really makes a different though as the turbo version is actually an overclocked 6589

Gorilla glass? Now it sounds more interesting then the jiayu g4.

    • howea
      June 15, 2013

      Doesn’t the G4 have Gorilla Glass 2

      • June 15, 2013

i assume they both don’t have corning products. maybe the chinese similar glass.

Be prepared for maximum two updates from Zopo and then company forget about this model. (like for ZP900 / ZP300). Never Zopo again.

      June 15, 2013

Now i’m scary. Is that true? I got a umi x2, but, for me, umi nevermore. So i was planning to buy the zopo c2 non-turbo.

      • Manos
        June 15, 2013

        Why the no turbo?

      • Lola
        June 15, 2013

        Are you disappointed with UmiX2?

    June 15, 2013

In which regard is this phone ‘International’ ?

    • June 15, 2013

It is international as the China version runs purely on Aliyun Os as they do not provide option to switch to android

      • Simon
        June 15, 2013

What exactly is Aliyun Os ?

        • June 15, 2013

It’s Android but modified by Alibaba

    • June 15, 2013

Actually, most serious webstores are flashing Android 4.2 on phone befroe shipping, when Ali OS is pre-installed

    White phones are FUGLY!

I’ve got the black C2 very nice & classy.

    • vivo
      June 15, 2013

yeah, black version looks better. Does C2 16gb exist in black?

      • June 16, 2013

Like i said at the moment only in china the black 16gb 1.5ghz mtk 6589 T is available online webstores at the moment seem to sell only white but it should be instock in arund mid to late june i think

    • Andrew
      June 20, 2013

I would prefer black, but I also heard that the LED buttons are pretty pathetic on the Zopo C2. At least with the white version, the buttons will be easier to see.

    June 15, 2013

    Dear Andi,

how sure you are, that “Zopomobilestore” is indeed Zopo’s official store,
and not a fake (like with multitude of fake jiayu stores we’ve read about here, on GizChina.com)?

Also, does anyone have any positive experience buying from them?

    June 15, 2013

I see a fatter backplate, so maybe there will be a bigger battery?

    • June 16, 2013

No there wont be different battery its just that they change the finishing of the back plate to be from a fake carbon fiber finish to a matte plastic

  14. June 15, 2013

    Does it support micro SD?
