Today, PhoneArena came in with an interesting statement, saying the Google Pixel 5 gave up the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 flagship platform and instead chose the Snapdragon 768G.
The source pointed out that the price of 5G smartphones has generally increased, and the price of Snapdragon 865 smartphones has increased significantly. If you use Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon X55 5G modem, the cost of phones will be very high. And these costs will inevitably be passed on to consumers, causing the terminal to be expensive.
For this reason, the Google Pixel 5 will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G mid-range mobile platform. This is the first time that the Pixel digital series uses Qualcomm 7 series chips. Prior to this, Google used only the Qualcomm 8 series flagship platforms.
Snapdragon 768G
However, the Snapdragon 768G is not a bad option. It is based on a 7nm process and uses Qualcomm Kryo 475 CPU Prime cores. The clock frequency is up to 2.8GHz, which is an increase from the 2.4GHz of the Snapdragon 765G.

Also, this chip comes with an Adreno 620 GPU. Its performance is 15% higher than that of the 765G. The graphics card on this SoC supports Adreno’s updateable GPU driver, which is the first 7 series SoC to do so.
On the network side of things, it has the same X52 5G Modem with support for 100MHz sub-6 bandwidth and an additional 4xMIMO for low bandwidth connections. It also features a dual-mode SA/NSA 5G connectivity.
Additionally, it has improved Wi-Fi 6 connectivity with 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously and extends support to Bluetooth 5.2 version compared to 5.0 in its older 765G.
Other features of Google Pixel 5
Apart from this, we have learned about other features of the Google Pixel 5 series. It turns out the new-gen models may support wireless reverse charging and come with a pre-installed Android 11 system.
It is worth noting that Google suggested in a survey report that the Google Pixel 5 will be priced at $699. Considering that the Google Pixel 4 starts at $799 (6GB + 64GB), if the Pixel 5 starts at $699, then it will have no chance with the Snapdragon 865 platform.
Man, I swear, you guys have nothing original to write anymore. Yes, we know they’re not using the 865 instead they are using the 768 as it also has 5G connectivity. Though i still don’t get why people would waste money on that. 5G won’t be viable for at least a few more years. As far as it launching with A11, isn’t that a given? What pixel device has been released with the previous years Os? 🤔 As for reverse charging, anyone who has been paying attention to the dev previews already knows this is coming as well.
I hope that’s not the final design of the pixel 5… Ugly camera bumps, off center giant foreheads and chins and dated side bezzel. It’s always something, product design counts! Consumers want something that has a sense of style and design, quality-attractive form coupled with superior function. Until Google figured it out, they’ll continue to justifiably be a side show.
While I agree most people don’t have good 5G yet, most people aren’t like me, and probably you They don’t buy new phones yearly 😀 So they will keep their phones for several years and in the next 18 months 5G will be easier to find and use. Besides, the 5G is built into most higher end new phones and so they get it no matter what, they may not even be looking for it in their new phone, whatever they buy.
Snapdargon chips are my favorite. Dargon it!
5G is not built into every flagship phone. It has to be added on to the 865 with a separate chip. But you are right most people don’t upgrade every year.
Bigger battery than the pixel 4 and finger print sensory, is all I want. Please Google
