Voice messages arrive on Twitter

Twitter

Twitter is one of the most popular social networks in the world with millions of users. Like the competition, the website is constantly developing and introducing new functions. The novelty announced today looks really interesting and will probably be well received, as evidenced by the positive reactions of many users. We are talking about voice messages on Twitter.

Voice messages arrive on Twitter

An interesting tweet about the new function on the portal appeared on the official Twitter profile. It’s the ability to attach voice messages to tweets, which works very simply. When writing a post in the application, all you have to do is hold down the appropriate button. Then, the app will record the words we say and will automatically attach it to the tweet. Unfortunately, there is a small catch – the novelty so far is only available on iOS.

To be able to attach a voice recording to your tweet, its length cannot exceed 140 seconds (two minutes and twenty seconds). When users play them, a new audio player will appear at the bottom of the application. You can see the whole process on the GIF image above. At the moment, we do not know when the new feature will arrive for the Android version, but probably soon. What do you think about this new feature? Be sure to let us know in the comments!

Trump threatens to shut down Facebook, Twitter and all social networks

It is worth mentioning that recently, Donald Trump has threatened to sign a decree that modifies a law that previously protected social media operators from liability for content posted by their users.

The move follows threats from the President to regulate or shut down social networks accused of trying to stifle conservative voices. This comes after Twitter posted a warning to urge users to check the veracity of Donald Trump’s messages.

The current White House tenant, who is running for a second term in November, considers this warning to be interference in the presidential election to which he will be opposed to Democrat Joe Biden.

The draft decree, confirmed by a source close to the situation, could still be modified before it was signed. Representatives of the White House said on Wednesday that Donald Trump will sign a decree on social media operators this Thursday.

The decree would modify section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. It’s a federal law exempting online platforms like Twitter, Facebook from responsibility for the content published by their users.

Concretely, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) would now be forced to check if a social network uses political bias to moderate content. And if this is incompatible with its conditions of service.
