HTC Desire 20 Pro

HTC was one of the most important smartphone makers in the world a couple of years ago. Moreover, the company is mainly responsible for pushing Android popularity in the past. We can say that the company pushed forward the platform when several companies were trying to build their own ecosystem. Unfortunately, the company failed to keep up with the intense competition and lost its space. The company has been in the red for the past few years, but for everyone’s surprise, it revealed a new smartphone recently. The handset is called HTC Desire 20 Pro and was revealed along with the HTC U20 5G.

If you’ve enjoyed the look of the HTC Desire 20 Pro, the folks at XDA-Developers have extracted all the wallpapers of the smartphone. HTC Desire 20 Pro specifications

The HTC Desire 20 Pro is a mid-range smartphone and the U20 5G will represent HTC in the coming months. Both handsets are mid-range devices, but the U20 is slightly better offering connection with the new network standard. HTC can’t deal with the flagship segment, at least not for now, so we can understand the company’s strategy of offering budget handsets.

Gizchina News of the week

The Desire 20 Pro flaunts a 6.5-inch FHD + LCD Display with a top-left aligned punch-hole housing a 25MP selfie snapper. The display offers a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon 665 SoC which is a little bit underwhelming at this point. However, it’s not just bad at all. In addition to the processing power, we have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. The handset offers support for microS cards which certainly is a plus.

On the camera department, we have a Quad-Camera array comprising a 48MP f/1.8 primary, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide with 118-degrees FoV, a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture. The handset draws power from a massive 5,000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, and NFC support. The device obviously runs Android 10 straight out of the box with HTC software skin running atop. We are curious to see how this handset will perform in the market. The mid-range segment is flooded with good offers. We’re hoping that HTC gets enough revenue to keep its mobile business for more years.
