Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, has been doing quite well in the smartphone market. Since MediaTek unveiled its Dimensity 5G chip lineup, one of its major customers has been Xiaomi. Well, this is not a surprise, the Dimensity performance is top-notch. Now, there are reports that a new Redmi flagship will come with the Dimensity 1000+ SoC. In addition, the report claims that this device will also use a 120Hz LCD display, and has a battery capacity of 4500 mAh.
According to @DigitalChatStation, this Redmi flagship will not come with a punch-hole design. This means that it will be a full-screen smartphone probably with a pop-up design. If it is a pop-up LCD screen, Redmi’s new flagship may adopt a side fingerprint solution. The LCD display can not use an on-screen fingerprint and the possibility of using a rear fingerprint is low.
At present, the name of the Redmi MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ smartphone is still uncertain. We can certainly have one guess, the Redmi K40. The Redmi K series is Redmi’s flagship product line. Furthermore, the Dimensity 1000+ is MediaTek’s flagship SoC this year. Thus, the Redmi flagship may likely be the K40.

Dimensity 1000+ – MediaTek’s latest 5G flagship chip
The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC is built on the 7nm process. It uses ARM flagship Cortex A77 + Mali-G77 architecture design. It also has an eight-core CPU frequency up to 2.6GHz. Furthermore, its highly heterogeneous design APU 3.0 brings a powerful AI experience. On AnTuTu, this processor scores over 530,000 points.
A new model with model number M2006J10C has been approved for access to the Internet. There are speculations that this new Xiaomi model is the Redmi MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ phone. This smartphone will come with the same charger adapter (model MDY-11-EX) as the Redmi K30. It supports 33W fast charge.
One of the advantages of this chip is the support for the 144Hz refresh rate screen. However, the upcoming Redmi flagship will not take full advantage of this feature. There are also reports that the Redmi phone will use a SONY IMX686 CMOS. This is a 64MP high-res sensor.
