Redmi Note 9 Pro becomes the first MIUI device to enter Android Enterprise Recommended list

Google created the Android Enterprise Recommended program two years ago to help businesses close which phone is the best for them. Since the announcement, the company has been adding a dozen smartphones to this list. It usually awards smartphones that have good software support and acceptable hardware. A few days ago, the company added the recently released OnePlus 8 to the list. Now, it is adding the Redmi Note 9 Pro which is, in fact, the very first MIUI smartphones to join the list. It’s not the first Xiaomi phone to enter this list though.

Other Xiaomi smartphones have made their way to the Android Enterprise Program including the Xiaomi Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite, and the Mi A3. Do you know what these phones have in common? All of them run on stock Android One. Having these devices in the list isn’t a big reason for pride for the company. After all, they don’t have the company’s MIUI software. The Note 9 Pro packs Xiaomi’s proprietary skin, so seeing Google recommending a phone with it is the real big deal here.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 720G leads the show alongside 6GB of RAM. Storage is split between two variants with 64GB of Internal Storage or 128GB. Interestingly enough, the phone also has a dedicated microSD card slot along with dual SIM support.

We have four cameras on the back of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. There is a main 64MP camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP front-facing snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, we have a 16MP snapper living inside of the punch-hole. Other features of the smartphone include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and NFC. The phone also has a 5,020mAh battery with support for 30W fast-charging and NFC.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro arrival in this list means that more devices with MIUI will join the gang of Android Enterprise Recommended devices in the future. The minimum requirements for devices to be added include support for zero-touch enrollment, availability of unlocked models, and delivery of Android security updates within 90 days of release by Google for a minimum period of three years.
