Redmi’s most affordable Redmi 9A is now launched in India. It is the entry-level offering from Redmi and serves as a successor to Redmi 8A. The new Redmi 9A comes with plenty of upgrades. A massive battery, capable processor, and an affordable price tag are some of its key features. Let’s have a look at Redmi 9A specifications below.
Redmi 9A Specifications
The Redmi 9A Indian version is the same as the global variant. It comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. It is very unlikely to see an FHD+ display at this price point. Coming to the camera, there is a single 13-megapixels sensor. It is capable of recording videos at 1080p@30/60fps. While on the front, you will get a teardrop notch housing a 5-megapixels sensor for selfies.
Coming to the performance, the Redmi 9A fires Helio G25 chipset. It is a 12nm processor from MediaTek and is capable for day to day tasks and even very light gaming. You will get 32GB internal storage with 2GB RAM. The battery plays a vital role in the Redmi 9A specs list. It is a huge 5000mAH battery for the budget offering. Compile it with a 720p display, and you are good to go for days. However, you may want to plug-in the phone overnight because the charging speed is limited to 10W and will take a lot of time to fill-up the juice.
Good thing is that the Redmi 9A comes out of the box with the company’s latest MIUI 12 based on Android 10. You will not get a fingerprint scanner on the Redmi 9A. For the unlocking options, Xiaomi has embedded a face unlock feature. The smartphone comes with typical connectivity options like dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, micro USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The color option includes Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green.
Redmi 9A – Affordable price in India
Now comes the main point. What’s the Redmi 9A price in India? Well, the Redmi has unveiled the 9A with two variants in India. The vanilla comes with 2 GB RAM + 32 GB priced at Rs. 6,799 (~$93). While the high-end model comes with 3 GB RAM + 32 GB and is priced at Rs. 7,499 (~$102). If you are planning to buy the new Redmi 9A, then my take would be the 3GB RAM model. MIUI is a custom user interface and is heavier than stock Android, meaning the user-interface eats RAM just like Chrome on your PC.
If you are done deciding the variant, then comes the question of availability. The Redmi 9A will be available to buy on Amazon and Xiaomi Stores from Sept. 4 at 12 PM (local time). With the smartphone, the Chinese company also unveiled its budget-oriented Redmi Earphones. They come at a price tag of Rs. 399 (~$5). It will be available from September 7th on popular websites like Amazon and Flipkart.
