HTC Desire 20+ goes official with Snapdragon 720G SoC in Taiwan for ~$296

HTC is slowly and steadily entering the smartphone marketplace once again by launching some new devices over the past few months. To further boost its product catalog, HTC launched Desire 20+ in Taiwan carrying decent specifications. The mid-range smartphone comprises of a Snapdragon 720G SoC, 6.5-inch HD display 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. A beautiful waterdrop display houses a 16MP selfie camera. It is available for the starting price of 8490 TWD which roughly translates to $295.

HTC recently launched a couple of devices including HTC U20 5G and Desire 20 Pro in its home country. It appears the Taiwanese giant has some big plans for future to compete against the ever increasing competition form the Chinese smartphone makers.

HTC Desire 20+ specifications and features

HTC Desire 20+ is a new sibling of Desire 20 Pro which was launched in Europe in August 2020. The newly launched smartphone aka Desire 20 Plus features a large 6.5-inch IPS LCD display having 20:9 aspect ratio and 720 x 1600 pixel resolution. Being an affordable mid-ranger, HTC did not offer high refresh rate display for smooth gaming.

It comes powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s also an option to increase the storage via microSD card slot.

HTC Desire 20+

In the camera department, the smartphone embeds a quad-rear camera module featuring a 48-megapixel primary camera for quality photos. Moreover, there’s an impressive 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens to clearly focus on the nearby objects.

A squarish camera module looks stylish on the rear side of the device while featuring a dual LED flash. Surprisingly, the smartphone packs a 3.5 audio jack for flawless music experience. The volume rockers are present on the left side of the device while the power button resides on the right side.

There’s a 5000 mAh battery on board with support for Quick Charge 4.0 rapid charging technology. Meanwhile, you get Android 10 on board with all its glorious and useful features such as improved dark mode, enhanced notifications, better permissions control and much more. In connectivity, the smartphone offers Wi-Fi 802.11ac, dual SIM support, BL 5.0, GPS, NFC, and a USB-C port.

Pricing

The smartphone is currently available via HTC official Store in Taiwan with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage for the price of 8490 TWD (~$294). The buyers can select between two color options of Dawn Orange and Twilight Black. There’s no information yet regarding its global launch.
