LG promised to introduce a new cutting edge rollable technology for smart TVs back in 2018. It has been a while since the last time we saw and heard about this tech, but today, all of sudden, the company finally introduced the new cutting edge technology. In fact, the company was targeting the last year, but for some reason failed to comply with this schedule. Now, the LG Signature OLED R TV is available with a massive 65-inch rollable screen and a KRW 100,000,000 ~ $87,000 price tag. Yeah, this TV is not coming for users with fragile hearts.
The brand new smart TV is the only 65-inch OLED panel that can roll up and hide inside of its aluminum base. In fact, there’s an interesting feature that allows users to play with several different screen sizes and aspects. The maximum amount will always give you a 65-inch size. There’s a line view mode that shows just the top part of the screen, while the Zero view mode will keep it into its base.
You can also it as a powerful Bluetooth speaker
The super-premium panel also brings a powerful sound system featuring 4.2 channel speakers and offering 100W output power. Smart TV obviously comes with Bluetooth. The fun part about it is that you connect your smartphone to the TV without revealing the panel. Therefore, you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker in your home. You can also use the Line mode to see some useful information like the Music that is playing and the Clock. There are other features like Mood and Home Dashboard. Every feature shows distinct information.
Gizchina News of the week
In case you’re curious, LG’s Gumi TV plant in Gyeongbuk is behind the manufacture of this panel. In fact, not all the work is automated and uses the actual workforce. We believe that this also plays an effect on the device’s final price. It probably isn’t an easy TV to manufacture and LG adds this characteristic to all the premium appeal offered by it. The Fabric that covers the speakers is made by Danish Textile company Kvadrat. It is available in Signature Black, Moon Gray, Toffee Brown, and Topaz Blue colorways.
LG wants to make customers satisfied after buying this TV. The company is offering three years of extended service. It includes sending technicians twice a year to inspect if everything is right with your TV. LG can even send technicians to help you to install the TV.
This surely is a niche premium product, we are curious to see the effects it will bring to the market. Are the rollable OLED panels the future? Only time will tell.
