A new post was posted on the official Google blog yesterday. Google’s head of media and entertainment, Jonathan Zepp, announced that support for the Apple TV app will come to Chromecast from Google TV early next year. In addition, Zepp hinted that in the future there will be full-size support for the Apple TV app on all Android TV devices.
If you’re a paid Apple TV+ subscriber, original Apple content will also be included in personalized recommendations and Google TV search results.
According to many specialized publications, adding support for Apple TV, Google has become, in fact, the ideal firmware for watching video content. Google TV already has support for almost every video streaming app, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, Hulu, Peacock, and more.

Android TV users can now stream YouTube in 8K
If you already own an 8K Android TV, then you may like this report. Until recently, the streaming peak on the YouTube app for Android TV was 4K. Despite the fact that there is already a couple of 8K TVs as well as 8K contents, users can not stream on YouTube in 8K. However, all that will change as a new update brings 8K support to Android TVs. However, it is important to note that only those on Android 10 and above can get this update.
According to AndroidPolice, the changelog does not mention “HDR support on streams with the .av1 codec”. This means that there is no official confirmation for this feature. However, there is Cast Connect support.
