Samsung starts rolling out Android security patch of January 2021 to its Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Both the smartphones from Galaxy S9 series are the first one’s to get the January 2021 security patch. The update comes with the firmware version G960FXXSDFTL1 on Galaxy S9 and G965FXXSDFTL1 on Galaxy S9 Plus. Ā Although, Galaxy S9 series will not get Samsung One UI 3.0 with Android 11 in future.
Talking about the update, it improves the performance of the smartphone, overall device stablitiy improves, some bug fixes, and the company adds some new enhanced features. The update is currently rolling out in Germany, and it is expected to roll out other countries soon. However, Samsung is yet to release details of January 2021 Security patch. In coming days the company will publish the full security bulletin.

If you’re living in Germany and did not get the update notification on your Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus. Then you can check it manually by going through the Settings > Software Update. Although the update rolling out on Galaxy S9 and S9 plus is a small one, still we recommend you connect to a stable WiFi network to download the update. Do charge your smartphone up to 50% at least before start installing the update.
