According to a recent report, Samsung has released a new remote control for this year’s Neo QLED TV series. This remote control comes with a simple and modern appearance as well as an environmentally friendly design.
There is a solar panel on the back of this remote control. The traditional AAA battery compartment is no longer available. What else will replace the traditional battery if not a built-in lithium battery? According to the company, this battery can last for one year. The rear of the remote control has a Type-C interface, which is consistent with current Android phones. With this port, users can charge the remote control battery.
AAA battery design need to be eliminated – Samsung
Samsung said that although the AAA batteries of mainstream TV remotes usually last a long time. However, users still need to replace them which is not environmentally friendly. To pay tribute to the theme of sustainable development in 2021, Samsung has manufactured this remote control for Neo QLED.
For Samsung, this is a TV remote for every family and we must replace all non-replaceable battery designs. If this happens, the world will reduce 20 million one-time electric AAA battery trash. This remote control is made of renewable materials, and Samsung will equip this remote control in all Neo QLEDs.

Samsung recently released a new Neo QLED TV series, which uses quantum Mini LED screens. The quantum matrix technology can perform ultra-fine and precise control of densely arranged LEDs. Neo QLED increases the brightness to 12bit, 4096 levels, which helps to make dark areas darker and bright areas brighter, resulting in a more precise and immersive HDR experience.
Samsung Will Exclusively Supply LTPO OLED Screens for Apple iPhone 13 Pro
According to TheElec, Samsung will become the exclusive supplier of LTPO OLED displays for the ‘Pro’ models in the Apple iPhone 13 series later this year. The Apple iPhone 13 will have four models, all using OLED panels. Among them, the two models of Apple iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will use low-temperature polysilicon (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) OLED panels from Samsung Display and support 120Hz refresh rate.
LG Display cannot supply Apple with its LTPO OLED for iPhone this year. However, it is under development and strives to supply it in 2022. Samsung Display supplied LTPO OLEDs for Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Note20 Ultra for the first time last year. Samsung calls this technology adaptive frequency or mixed oxide and polysilicon (HOP).
Also, Samsung Display is seeking to transfer part of its A3 production line in Asan for the production of LTPO TFT. The monthly production capacity of this production line is 105,000 pieces, of which about 60,000 pieces will be transferred to LTPO TFT.
The source also said that Apple plans to use LTPO OLED in all iPhone models launched by the end of 2022.
