From smartphones to wearables, Samsung has been rolling out software updates to all its devices this month. In fact, the older Galaxy Watch and Watch Active were also treated with a new firmware upgrade. Well, it’s now time for the Galaxy Buds Live. Samsung has now treated the last year’s truly wireless earbuds with a new update. This new firmware update brings a bunch of Galaxy Buds Pro features to it.

Galaxy Buds Live gets a new firmware update: here’s what it brings!

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Buds Pro arrived with a hearing enhancement that allows users to boost the L/R sound balance for earbuds. Using this feature, you can adjust the sound balance for each earbud. This new feature will come in handy when you’ll witness a hearing loss in any of the buds. Well, that same feature is now available for Galaxy Buds Live.

The new firmware update carries version R180XXU0AUB5 and weighs just around 2.20MB. At the time of writing this, the update is only available in the United States. We’re expecting the update to reach more regions or markets in the coming weeks. Apart from hearing enhancements, the new update also brings an Auto Switching feature. It allows users to seamlessly switch between Galaxy smartphone and Galaxy tablet running One UI 3.1.

Gizchina News of the week

Auto Switching is a very handy feature in various user scenarios. For instance, let’s assume you’re consuming multimedia on your tablet with Galaxy Buds connected. Now, when a call comes on your Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy Buds will switch seamlessly when you pick the call. Another thing that the changelog mention is the ‘Buds control menu has been added to the Bluetooth settings’.

What this means is that you can now adjust settings for your Buds through the Bluetooth page itself – you no longer need to open the Galaxy Wearable app for minor tweaks. Lastly, the changelog also mentions improved system stability and reliability.

That’s it for this firmware upgrade. It would be interesting to see whether the company will bring these features to the original Galaxy Buds or not. It might actually happen considering Samsung has just brought Galaxy Watch 3 features to the original wearable.
