The Honor brand is no longer owned by Huawei, but at this stage, the benefits of breaking with the parent company are not particularly visible. It seems that negotiations with Google have stalled and this may explain the lack of models for the global market. Nevertheless, the company is still preparing for the announcement of new items, among which will be the flagship Honor 50 smartphone series.
Network insider @RODENT950, who specializes in leaks about Huawei and Honor products, said that the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will premiere. It is quite logical that the new smartphones will be different in terms of hardware. So, the insider claims that Honor 50 will receive a Dimensity 1200 chipset and its premiere will take place in May this year.
As for the Honor 50 Pro, it is credited with the Snapdragon platform and will be released in July. What kind of SoC from Qualcomm will get the firmware, there is no information. Most likely, it will be the Snapdragon 888 to highlight the Honor 50 Pro in terms of power.
There is no information on other characteristics of the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro. One can only speculate that they will receive OLED displays, from 8 GB of RAM, batteries with a capacity of at least 4000 mAh with support for fast charging.

Honor 50
In November last year, the “divorce” of Huawei and Honor took place; thus the parent company gave the daughter a chance to survive in the smartphone market and return to cooperation with partners. In particular, the Chinese will be able to continue working with Qualcomm and Google. The Snapdragon chip and Google services should appear in the Honor 40; but this has not happened until today.
But recently, unexpectedly, information appeared that the company will skip the Honor 40 and present the Honor 50 at once. According to the GSMArena resource, the manufacturer will present this model in May this year. In support of his words, the source published a teaser and sketches; which it somehow managed to “snatch” even before its official publication.
The teaser image itself and sketches show the image of the rear camera, consisting of two large circular blocks. They “surprisingly” repeat the camera unit that is attributed to the Huawei P50; and this similarity makes you very skeptical about the veracity of the teaser; or the fact that Honor has really become independent. The upper circle houses one image sensor, and the lower one houses two sensors.
