Before the pandemic, the tablet market was not very lucrative that many manufacturers were pulling out. The likes of Apple and Samsung had a strong grip on the market. This is because not many people were buying large screen devices. However, with the lockdown and the need to work/school from home, the demand for tablets hit the roof. To this end, many manufacturers are returning and Xiaomi is one of them. The company has been working on the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and fans are already waiting for this device.
There have been a series of leaks and speculations regarding the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. The latest is a render from a Twitter user @TheGalox_. The render is not different from the previous appearance which we have seen. However, this render shows that the Mi Pad 5 will use the same camera module design as the Xiaomi Mi 11. Furthermore, this tablet will come with an LCD display that supports a 16:10 screen ratio, a resolution of 2560×1600 as well as a 120Hz refresh rate.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 previous speculations
In addition to the multiple renders, the user interface of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 has also been revealed. According to the XDA Developers, the Mi Pad 5 will use a special system, MIUI for Pad. The system will have a new interface that will support full-screen gestures. Just like the iPad Pro, the Mi Pad 5 will have a full-screen solution.
From the speculations so far, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will have about three different models. These models will use different chips including Snapdragon 870, Snapdragon 860, and Snapdragon 888 SoC. While some will support 5G, others will stick with the 4G network. However, all the models will not launch at the same time. Some of these tablets will launch later this year. The codenames of these devices are “Nabu”, “Enuma” and “Elish”.
In addition to the core performance, the Mi Pad 5 will also be equipped with a tablet system similar to the Mi MIX FOLD folding screen. This means that Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will have functions such as a handheld PC mode, dual-screen drag and drop, parallel windows, and conference secretary. It’s been many years since Xiaomi last released a tablet. The company will have to be on top of its game if it has hope of making any impact.
