A couple of days ago, OnePlus started rolling out the OxygenOS 11.2.6.6. update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. This update was meant to improve the camera of these flagships. Now, the company is rolling out a new update for the third OnePlus 9 family member, the OnePlus 9R. The cheapest smartphone in the series is getting OxygenOS 11.2.3.3 OTA with improvements and bug fixes.
If you recall, the OnePlus 9R started received OxygenOS 11.2.1.2 a couple of weeks ago. That update brought the Android Security Patch level to May 2021. As usual, the company also brought some improvements and bug fixes. Now, it is rolling out a new firmware update that aims at a battery drain issue reported by some users. This particular behavior started with the latest update.
According to the changelog, the OnePlus OxygenOS 11.2.3.3 can be considered a “hotfix” update. It replaces the previous OnePlus 9R update addressing issues caused by the last firmware. The new update has just 106MB in size which is quite small for what we’re used to. Apparently, the update reduces power consumption in specific scenarios. It also improves some issues to ensure a better experience with the cost-effective flagship. Since this is a minor “hotfix” update, the changelog is quite small, and you can check it below.

- Reduces power consumption in specific scenarios
- Fixed issues for a better experience
The update is rolling out in a gradual manner. So it may take a couple of days to reach all eligible units. For now, the OnePlus 9R is exclusive to Indian and Chinese customers. At this point, we don’t think that the cheapest OnePlus 9 variant will reach other markets. If everything goes according to the plan, OnePlus tends to expand the availability to more users. You can try your luck with the update by heading to Settings >> System >> System Updates.
