Sugar phone first ever handset has been listed on popular Chinese e-commerce sites, and at $536 it’s the most expensive Meidatek phone we have ever seen!
Mediatek phones are thought of as lower priced alternatives to more mainstream devices. The low cost of the SoC have meant that manufactures are able to offer phones features like 1080 displays and 13 mega-pixel cameras at a fraction of the price of say Sony, HTC and Samsung.

Sometimes though bling is all you need, and if you have enough cash to splash on a quad-core 1.5Ghz MT6589T phone you might want to consider the 3288 Yuan ($536) Sugar SS129 phone with encrusted Swarovski crystals!
There are actually some nice features on the phone such as a Corning Gorilla Glass display, a Sharp 1080 panel, 13 mega-pixel Sony rear camera with F2.2 aperture, 32GB memory and a thin 8.2mm fuselage, but still it is a lot to ask. If you did want to spend a little less you could opt for the 16GB version for ‘only’ 2888 Yuan ($471), which offers just as much sparkle.
