Xiaomi Mi Pad 5

Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, has not released any device in its tablet lineup for years. In fact, before this year, there were reports that the company is completely abandoning its tablet lineup. However, with the advent of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, the company will rejuvenate its tablet series. Furthermore, with Xiaomi’s re-entry into the tablet market, the company will shelve its previous mid-range positioning. It appears that Xiaomi will unveil flagship tablets that will pass perfectly for work and play. While we are still waiting for the company to officially announce the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, there are already reports on the Xiaomi Mi Pad 6.

According to a recent Weibo post from @DCS, Xiaomi’s next-generation tablet is already in the works. He is not referring to the Mi Pad 5, this is already a done deal. The post refers to the Xiaomi Mi Pad 6. According to him, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 6 will focus on the camera department. He claims that Xiaomi will bring very rich shooting functions and higher playability.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 speculations

According to initial reports, one of these models will use a Snapdragon 888 SoC. However, other speculations show that all the models in this series will come with the Snapdragon 870 SoC. Yet another round of speculations claims that these models will have different processors. They will use the Snapdragon 870, Snapdragon 860, and Snapdragon 768G. The implication of this contrasting information is that there is no concrete information regarding the processor of this tablet. However, it will support 5G making it the first Xiaomi tablet to support 5G connection.

In addition, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will be equipped with a high-quality display panel. This screen not only has a resolution of 2560 x 1600, but also supports a 120Hz high refresh rate, 240hz high touch sampling rate, and also supports 4096 touch screens. This device will also support an In-Cell active pen technology, comparable to iPad Pro.

It is worth mentioning that there are recent reports that Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will adopt a full-screen design with no openings. If this is the case, then Xiaomi will have to increase the top bezel a bit so that it will accommodate the front camera. This design is worth looking forward to.
