Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, has been developing its own system, HarmonyOS. After the U.S. announced the ban on Huawei, the company increased the pace of development of its system. Just like Google Mobile Services (GMS), the company also cerated Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). Huawei Petal has a lot of subroutines including Huawei Petal Search, Petal Map, @petalmail.com, Petal Assistant, Petal Vision, Petal Input, and more. Now, the latest of the Petal subroutines is the Petal Translator. According to reports, the Huawei Petal Translator App officially commences public testing.
The Huawei Petal Translator App is an intelligent translation product from Huawei Cloud Service Innovation Team. This app also uses the AI translation capabilities of HMS. It has a wealth of product features, including support for text translation in multiple languages, intelligent image OCR recognition translation, real-time dialogue translation, etc.

Huawei: Reports of Nokia smartphones using HarmonyOS is false
The development of HarmonyOS has been quite smooth and many Huawei fans/sympathizers are happy with the process so far. However, if Huawei will lock horns with the “big boys” (Android and iOS), it may the support of other manufacturers. As of now, only Huawei smartphones use HarmonyOS. As of June 15, HarmonyOS had over 18 million active users. All these users are Huawei’s pre-existing users that are migrating to HarmonyOS. Recently, there were reports that Nokia will release two smartphones with HarmonyOS. The report also claims that the Nokia X60 and X60 Pro will launch with HarmonyOS this year. This is quite a surprise because Nokia is not even Chinese.
However, there should be nothing surprising about it, it’s fake news anyway. According to Nokia, “our users like Nokia phones with the Android operating system, and our commitment to providing the best Android experience remains unwavering”. This is the first official debunking of the news linking Nokia to HarmonyOS.
Furthermore, Huawei itself has also officially debunked the report linking HarmonyOS to Nokia. When the company executive was asked will “Nokia’s new mobile phone will use HarmonyOS”? “Wrong” Huawei’s official replied.
If any manufacturer will use HarmonyOS, we expect Chinese companies to do so first. While HarmonyOS for other gadgets may be great, the use of this system for smartphones is technical and complex.
