The Honor brand, which spun off from the Chinese giant Huawei due to tough United States sanctions, is designing several smartphones with flexible displays. Information about the characteristics of one of them was at the disposal of some insiders.
Honor Magic X foldable smartphone will have an 8-inch flexible display
According to reports, Honor is preparing a large device that, when unfolded, can easily replace a tablet. In particular, the flexible panel will be 8 inches diagonally. On the outside of the case, there will be a 6.5-inch screen.
The flexible display is rumored to be ordered from the Chinese company BOE. It is currently developing advanced ultra-thin glass to protect such devices from damage during daily use.
Judging by the published data, Honor is preparing a smartphone in the format of a book with a flexible panel that folds into the body. We do not yet know other characteristics of the device.
Earlier, on the website of the China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), information appeared that Honor had registered the Honor Magic Fold and Honor Magic Flip trademarks. The device described above may debut under the name Honor Magic Fold. The Honor Magic Flip will be the name for the upcoming clamshell smartphone.

The top-of-the-line Honor 50 with 12GB of RAM goes on sale this week in China
Honor has confirmed on Weibo that the Honor 50 smartphone with 12GB of RAM will go on sale in China the day after tomorrow, July 16th. It will cost $ 525. Previously available 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB versions costs $ 417 and $ 463, respectively.
The Honor 50, 50 Pro and 50 SE smartphones went on sale in China this June. The manufacturer said that smartphones are very popular, in connection with which Honor needs to increase the pace of production.
The Honor 50 features a 6.57-inch curved OLED screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch layer polling rate. The device is running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G mobile platform with an Adreno 642L GPU. It supports Honor GPU Turbo X and Link Turbo technologies.
The main camera is having image sensors with a resolution of 108, 8, 2 and 2 megapixels, the front camera is 32 megapixels. The device has a 4300 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging technology.
Also, the smartphone runs Android 11 out of the box with its own Magic UI 4.2. In addition, Google mobile services will be available in the devices of the series outside of China.
