POCO X3 GT goes official with Dimensity 1100 and 67W fast charging

POCO X3 GT

POCO has revealed the POCO X3 GT in Malaysia. The device confirms all our previous suspicions and is, in fact, a rebranded Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G. That said we have a premium mid-range smartphone with flagship-like specifications. The most notable specifications include a 6 nm MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC with 5G, a 5,000 mAh battery, and 67 W of fast charging. The device will hit other markets very soon, but there is no word yet about the global launch date.

POCO X3 GT specifications

The POCO X3 GT joins the GT family that started with the POCO F3 GT, which curiously is also based on a Redmi rebranding. The POCO X3 GT packs a fairly large 6.6-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution. The panel is what separates the POCO X3 GT from the premium category. It’s a standard LCD, but thankfully it offers a 120 Hz refresh rate and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top for the front-facing snapper. The device has a centered punch-hole for its 16 MP selfie snapper.

Under the hood, the smartphone draws power from a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC. For those who are unfamiliar with this chip, it shares some semblances with the Dimensity 1200. It brings four ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.6 GHz plus four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. The chip is based on the 6 nm TSMC architecture and brings a Mali-G78 MC9 GPU for graphical tasks. The processor is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage.

The POCO X3 GT draws its powers from a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 67 W fast-charging support. According to POCO, this technology can completely charge the device in just 42 minutes. This is the same speed offered by flagships like the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra. Apparently, Xiaomi is running to catch Realme and Oppo by bringing fast charging to its mid-range devices. Meanwhile, premium smartphone makers are still pushing 15W charging flagships.

In terms of optics, the smartphone packs a 64 MP primary camera. It also has an 8 MP ultrawide snapper. The device also comes with a 2 MP macro camera. In terms of software, the POCO X3 GT runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 straight out of the box. The connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6. It comes with Stereo Speakers and an IR Blaster. Unfortunately,  there aren’t details regarding the launch in other markets like India. However, we assume that this is just a matter of time.

Pricing and Availability

The POCO X3 GT comes in two flavors – 8 GB / 128 GB and 8 GB / 256 GB. The base model is priced at RM 1,199 ($283). The 256GB option costs RM 1,399 ($330). The device is available in Stargaze Black, Wave Blue, and Cloud White colorways.
