Earlier this week, ZTE unveiled its long-awaited ZTE Axon 30 featuring compelling specifications. The most notable one is a revolutionary display with a high-quality layer for covering the under-screen camera. This camera brings the second generation of ZTE’s technologies. The device, so far, is only available in China. However, ZTE is moving to bring it to other markets across Europe, Asia Pacific, North America, Middle East, and Africa. According to a fresh report, the device’s arrival in other regions will be in September.
ZTE Axon 30 5G specifications
The ZTE Axon 30 5G smartphone flaunts a 6.92-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The panel offers an impressive refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 360 Hz touch sampling rate. On July 27, ZTE revealed that the smartphone comes with intelligent display optimization and intelligent pixel enhancement with the help of an independent screen display chip. Moreover, the device comes with three unique processing technologies and features seven layers of material that are highly transparent. In fact, that display has passed through three eye-protection certifications.
In terms of performance, the ZTE Axon 30 5G packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC which represents a large jump in comparison to last year’s Axon 20 with Snapdragon 765G. The device is paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage capacity. The smartphone uses memory fusion technology to use the free storage and expand it as up to 5 GB of RAM.

In terms of optics, the ZTE Axon 30 5G packs a Quad-Camera setup on the back. It comprises a 64 MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.79. Moreover, the rear-mounted camera module offers an 8 MP ultrawide camera with 120-degree field of view support, a 5 MP macro shooter, and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16 MP selfie camera.
The device draws powers from a 4,200 mAh battery with support for 55 W fast-charging. It also comes with a triple ice cooling system that includes a composite material derived from graphene copper. It also comes with a high-power thermal gel, and a mammoth VC liquid cooling plate. In terms of connectivity, it offers a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, and 5G connectivity. The smartphone weighs 189 grams and its dimensions are 170.2 x 77.8 x 7.8mm.
Pricing in China
In China, the variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Storage costs CNY 2,198 ($338). The higher variant has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. It sets you back by CNY 3,098 ($476).
