Tesla Motors is one of the most innovative companies in the segment of automobiles. Elon Musk, the company’s CEO is currently one of the most influential personalities in the world. Recently, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX revealed that he had tried to sell his car company to Apple. However, the Cupertino-based giant’s CEO, Tim Cook, reportedly declined to arrange a meeting to discuss the offer.
The disclosure of the attempted sale was made by Musk, on his official Twitter profile, after the billionaire was asked by a BBC network reporter about another related story, that he wanted to be Apple’s CEO. According to the report, Elon claims he never got to talk to or write to Tim Cook. But the billionaire says he asked for a meeting with Apple’s CEO to talk about a possible takeover of Tesla by Apple.

There was a point where I requested to meet with Cook to talk about Apple buying Tesla. There were no conditions of acquisition proposed whatsoever.

However, he didn’t get feedback from the company and the meeting never took place. Musk claims that Tesla was worth about 6% of the value the company has on the market today.
The speech comes to try and put warm clothes on the strange relationship between Apple and Tesla. A book was written by revamped Wall Street Journal journalist Tim Higgins on the automaker’s origins, Musk’s trajectory, and his path to the top of the world are due out soon. This week, the publication received analysis in the Los Angeles Times newspaper and some excerpts and important passages of the work were revealed. That includes one that brings more data about one of Tesla’s sales proposals to Apple.
Elon Musk reportedly tried to become Apple’s CEO
According to Higgins’ book, Musk was in a somewhat ambitious condition to accept the offer in 2016. He wanted to be Apple’s CEO. The report says that Musk expressed interest in the proposal, but gave his condition: “I will be the CEO”. Cook would have agreed, thinking the executive was referring to his position within Tesla. After Elon explained that he wanted to take over from Apple, Cook would then have turned off the phone.
Neither of the two figures involved in the story seems to have any interest in confirming it. Cook has previously said that he has never talked to Musk. However, he has “great admiration and respect” for him. Tesla’s leader, on the other hand, went to Twitter to contest the veracity of the book’s reports.
