Redmi recently released its Redmibook series in India. Realme, another popular smartphone maker is also gearing up to introduce its very first Realme Book in the country. Apparently, another Chinese firm that is well known for making smartphones is preparing a new laptop for the Asian country. Vivo made its name due to its camera-centric and premium smartphones but expanded its portfolio with mid-range smartphones offering 5G in recent years. Now, the BBK-owned company is preparing its very first shot in the laptop market.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we saw the world transitioning to homework and home study. This has greatly expanded the demand for capable devices that will run these tasks without issues. Realme is pretty aware of this demand. Therefore, it decided to introduce its first laptop and tablet in 2021. Now, as per a new report, its sister company Vivo will also enter this particular segment. The company is conducting a laptop survey. The survey asks questions about the display size and processor details. Rumors indicate that the company will introduce the laptops in two screen sizes and they will come with 11th-gen Intel Core processors.
Gizchina News of the week
The survey suggests that Vivo’s first laptop will come with an Intel 11th generation Intel Core i3 and/or Intel Core i5 processor. If you recall, Realme has conducted a similar survey in May before confirming the Realme Book. Apparently, this is a strategy common between BBK-owned firms. Based on this, we can expect Vivo to also introduce a laptop in the coming months.
Vivo X70 series launch event is nearing the shores
According to rumors, Vivo is preparing to introduce its Vivo X70 series in the coming months. While we can’t confirm this at the moment, the launch event for the new X-series might be a good opportunity for Vivo to introduce its first laptop. The lineup will be composed of a Vivo X70, X70 Pro, and X70 Pro+. The vanilla variant will run with the Dimensity 700, while the Pro+ variant is expected to come with a Snapdragon 888 Plus. Interestingly, the company’s sub-brand will also launch the iQOO 8 with the SD888+ very soon. After Vivo, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a gaming iQOO laptop. But that’s another story.
Worth noting that the company can also skip this quarter and leave the new slate for the Holidays. Hopefully, the new laptop will be different enough from the Realme Book. We expect Vivo to bring a powerful camera for selfies and video calls. Moreover, it will likely support Windows 11 just like the Realme Book.
What are your expectations for a new Vivo laptop? or Vivo Book.
