Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked brought many new products including the Galaxy Z Fold3, Z Flip3, and Galaxy Watch4 series. The company also updated its portfolio of TWS headsets with the new Galaxy Buds2. The new hearables come with a lightweight design and Active Noise Cancellation boasted by three microphones in each bud. Samsung is finally enhancing the game by bringing ANC to its non-Pro models.
Galaxy Buds2 features and specs
The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 arrives with a dynamic two-way speaker. The new TWS headset is split into a woofer and a tweeter. As a result, it promises clear high notes and deep atmospheric lows. Samsung trimmed the weight to 5.0 grams per bud, with the case adding just 41.2 grams more to the total weight.
The trio of microphones, placed in each earbud, bring Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to life. It enhances the experience and cancels the noise while you listening to music and also provides “impressive call quality” free of noise. The earbuds also come with a Voice pickup unit (VPU) that helps filter in only your voice to the other party and not external noises.
According to Samsung, the new Active Noise Cancellation feature is capable of blocking up to 98% of noise. The company also brings enhanced Ambient Modes for those cases when you actually want to hear what’s going on around you. The hearables also come with machine learning-based solutions and adapt to external sounds like cars, wind, emergency vehicles.

Samsung will also provide a Galaxy Wearable app for PC users. From there, users will be able to set noise control and the equalizer on the Galaxy Buds2. The buds will also have an Auto Switch solution which will allow seamless switch between different Galaxy devices including smartphones, tablets, and notebooks.
There is also a Galaxy Wearable fit test as part of the companion app. It allows you to pick the right size rubber tips for an optimal sound experience.
As for the charging case, the Galaxy Buds2 case is quite similar to that of the Galaxy Buds Pro. Interestingly, it also packs the very same battery capacity – 472 mAh. As for the individual batteries, each bud will come with a 61 mAh battery capacity. As per reports, the battery life will be 5 hours with ANC enabled and 8 hours without it. If you take the case in consideration, then battery life goes up to 12/18 hours.
