MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Version Will Complete Updating Process By August 27


Last week, when Xiaomi’s Lei Jun was delivering his annual speech, we saw a number of new products that are still on everyone’s lips. We can talk for hours about the first under-screen camera phone MIX 4, the new tablet Mi Pad 5, the bionic robot CyberDog, the new OLED TVs and other products. But as Xiaomi started its way with MIUI, the latter will always be in the spotlight. And at the event, Jin Fan, the product director of Xiaomi and the general manager of MIUI experience, announced the MIUI 12.5 enhanced version. At present, the latter has started the first round of upgrades.

On August 13, Xiaomi officially launched the first round of the MIUI 12.5 enhanced version upgrade. The following models will be getting their own portion by sequence:

  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra,
  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro,
  • Redmi K40 Pro,
  • Xiaomi Mi 10S,
  • Xiaomi Mi 11,
  • Redmi K30S Ultra,
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 / Ultra / Pro,
  • Redmi K40,
  • Redmi K30 Pro.

As we can see, only the top-end models of both brands will get the latest system of the company. And though there are guess other models will be included in the list, that’s not for sure.

Xiaomi stated in the announcement that due to factors such as bandwidth and release arrangements for many models, it will take some time for to complete. As said, the process has begun August 13 and will complete by August 27.

What New In MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Version?

First, we should mention the Liquid storage. It ensures a highly-sensitive monitoring of the degree of fragmentation. As a result, this feature increases the efficiency of defragmentation by 60%. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro laboratory simulation test shows that the reading and writing attenuation is less than 5% after 36 months of use. The performance of this smartphone is also as smooth as ever.

The Atomic memory feature focuses on ultra-fine memory management and splits application memory. Also, it sets priorities and “ignores” unimportant tasks to refine and compress memory usage. Furthermore, taking the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra as an example, the back-end residency capacity increases by 64%.

The Focus computing is accelerated for 51 core scenarios, prioritizing the most obvious processes perceived by current users according to scenarios and suppressing unimportant applications in the background. The multi-model real-world testing also shows an average 15% drop in CPU usage and an average 8% power savings.

Finally, the Intelligent balance makes the top hardware run properly and irrelevant programs do not obstruct it. In addition, using the Xiaomi Mi 11 for testing, the average power consumption drops by 10%.
