Apple Watch Series 7 CAD renders reveal slim bezels, flatter design and more

We are walking fast into September and Apple is preparing one of its biggest moves for 2021. After a year ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic which forced the company to launch new iPhones in October, the brand is returning to its September window. The Cupertino-based company will introduce the Apple Watch 7 in September alongside the new iPhone 13 series. As per the rumors, the new products will go official on September 14. As per the reports, the iPhone 13 will bring some sweet changes in design, but the Apple Watch Series 7 will also come with major changes.

Today, 91Mobiles has uploaded the CAD-based renders of the upcoming Apple Watch. As per the images, the new wearable will come with slim bezels a flatter design, and some interesting changes. The renders clearly point out a major design overhaul that Apple is preparing for the Apple Watch Series 7. It’s interesting to see the change towards flat-edges. After all, this has been a major approach for Apple with its recent products. The M1 iPad Pro now has flat edges, while the iPhone 12 models also pack flat edges.

Gizchina News of the week

Apple Watch Series 7 featuring flat edges, a slimmer design, and a bezel-less display

The new wearable will keep its Digital Crown for navigation on the right edge. Below, there’s a button to power on/off the watch or selecting other options. The left side sees two rather large slots for speakers. The underside of the smartwatch is a circular module. It houses the heart-rate sensor and other sensors. Interestingly, the leak also reveals that the 44 mm model will measure 44 x 38 x 9 mm while packing a 1.8-inch display. For comparison, the Apple Watch Series 6 measured 44 x 38 x 10.7 mm. So we can basically conclude that Apple is doing a great job by turning the device more slim and bezel-less.

According to reports, the Apple Watch Series 7 will indeed come with thinner borders. Apparently, this comes as a direct result of Apple’s new lamination technique. It brings the display closer to the front cover. According to previous leaks, the new smartwatch will also come with Apple’s take on ultra-wideband technology. This new technology will help the company to implement its Find My Network.

The Apple Watch Series 7 will also serve to introduce the new watchOS 8. We expect many new health-centric features with Apple’s new wearable OS, especially now that Google is improving its game with the newly refreshed wearOS. The Series 7 should come with the usual sensors including the ECG. Unfortunately, the blood glucose monitor isn’t ready for the new wearable. In fact, it should still be some years away.
