A recently surfaced leak hinted at enhanced features via a short video. Aside from showing the fitness tracker in all its glory, the aforesaid 1:31 minute-long video hinted that the Charge 5 will go up for sale carrying a $179 price tag. On August 26, Fitbit held an annual launch event featuring the Charge 5 fitness tracker.

The California-based consumer electronics and fitness company announced the Fitbit Charge 5 on its official blog on August 25. The tracker supports Daily Readiness Score. The device has gone up for pre-orders in multiple color options including Gold, Graphite Lunar White, Platinum Black, and Steel Blue color options. The fitness tracker will be available for $179.95. This coincides with previously leaked pricing details.

The Charge 5 comes with a 1.04-inch AMOLED color display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. The display comes with an always-on option and is twice as brighter as its predecessor, the Charge 4. Moreover, it features a skin temperature sensor, along with an EDA (ElectorDermal Activity) sensor, which tracks the stress level of the wearer. The tracker has more than 200 mindfulness sessions such as Ten Percent Happier, Breethe, Aura, and Aaptiv. Its heart rate sensor tracks HRV (Heart Rate Variability) and RHR (Resting Heart Rate).

On top of that, it has a SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation) sensor. As if that weren’t enough, it is water-resistant up to 50m. Furthermore, it has a GPS (+GLONASS) receiver that can track outdoor activities without error. It also has pre-programmed workouts from LES MILLS GRIT and BODYPUMP BODYCOMBAT for those who are into HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training). The device’s display is 1.04-inch diagonal and has Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It supports nearly 20 exercise modes and supports automatic exercise recognition and a V02 max tracker.

What Else Does The Charge 5 Offer?

The fitness tracker boasts an impressive array of other health features such as 24 hours heart rate monitor. The Fitbit app has a Health Metrics dashboard that shows various key wellness parameters. It tracks multiple metrics including SpO2 rate, skin temperature variation, and breathing rate. Moreover, it provides Sleep Stages, daily Sleep Scores, and various other sleep data. Also, it comes with SmartWake alarms.

You can choose from 20 colorful watch faces. The tracker comes in Black color featuring a Graphite Stainless Steel case. Aside from that, it comes in Steel Blue with Platinum Stainless Steel case, Soft Gold Stainless Steel case, and Lunar White.
