POCO C31 with MediaTek Helio G35 and 5000mAh battery launched in India

POCO C31

POCO took the last day of September to unleash a new budget smartphone for India. As usual, the new entry-level smartphone is coming under the cost-effective POCO C-series. The new smartphone carries a POCO C31 moniker and has very modest specifications such as an Helio G35 SoC and a 13 MP main camera. It comes for a particular niche of users that doesn’t need top-notch performance but a device that can go through an entire day of modest usage. We believe that the POCO C31 offers decent performance for non-exigent users.

POCO C31 specifications

The POCO C31 flaunts a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display has a waterdrop notch at the top, which includes the selfie camera. Under the hood, the C31 carries the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. This chip has old standards such as eight Cortex-A53 cores and 12 nm architecture. It comes with up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of Internal Storage. As usual in budget smartphones, you can easily expand the memory via a micro SD card. The smartphone comes with P2i nano-coating for splash resistance.

In terms of optics, the device has a triple-camera setup in the rear with a squarish design. It consists of a 13 MP main camera, a 2 MP depth camera, and a 2 MP macro lens. The selfie camera is a basic 5 MP snapper that just is okay for video calls, but we don’t expect marvelous selfies with this low-resolution.

Gizchina News of the week

The most shocking characteristic of this smartphone is the software. The POCO C31 runs Android 10 with MIUI 12 running on top. Android 11 already completed its first anniversary and we’re a few days away from getting Android 12. We can understand why POCO couldn’t provide Android 11 at this point. Hopefully, the device will get an update soon. Saying that the smartphone is for the budget segment can’t be an excuse.
