Soon, Qualcomm will introduce its next-gen flagship chip for the Android camp. The Snapdragon 898 is going to become a true beast, destroying all and everything on its way. The announcement of a new flagship SoC usually takes place in December. Thus, in two months, we will meet the new lord of chips. This also means that competition among smartphone vendors is getting fiercer. Everyone is trying to debut the chip. But as we’ve seen in the past 2-3 years, Xiaomi is going to be the first to launch a smartphone powered by this processor. For Redmi, it’s also a good chance to bring its own flagship smartphone with it sooner than its rivals. The Redmi K50 is the main candidate.
Recently, we have heard much about the configuration of the Redmi K50 series. First, it’s almost confirmed that the series will include three models. Interestingly, all three models should come with different core features. Plus, they will be quite different models in terms of photography. The vanilla variant will sport a 48MP main camera; the high version will feature a 50MP main camera; the toppest version will be powered by a 108MP main camera.
As for the previous model, the Redmi K40 came with an improved camera. So there is every reason to think the manufacturer will continue this trend and the Redmi K50 will be even more powerful in terms of camera.

There will be three models in face of the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, and Redmi K50 Pro+. Apart from the processor, camera, and fast charging rate, the rest of the features will be identical.
In terms of processors, the highest version (Redmi K50 Pro+) will come with the Snapdragon 898; the Redmi K50 Pro is rumored to come with the Snapdragon 888 processor; there is still no certain information concerning the vanilla version.
In addition to the performance and imaging system upgrades, we have also heard the Redmi K50 series will support 100W fast charging for the first time. Moreover, it is going to provide up to 120W fast charging. But the latter should appear only on the Pro+ variant. In this sense, the Pro version should support 100W charging. And as for the vanilla version, it ought to support only 67W charging. This yields the rest two models, but it is still a good charging power. You can just compare it with the models on the market, and see Redmi’s upcoming flagship will still stand out.
