Popular Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has been having a wonderful time, with its smartphones selling in decent numbers, allowing the company to take top honours for total units shipped globally.

Recently, it also unveiled the Xiaomi 11T, 11T Pro and Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, with the latter having being introduced in key markets like India. With India’s festive season right around the corner, it seems that Xiaomi is set to enter a new device to its diverse portfolio.

Xiaomi is likely working on multiple new devices, with a new leak suggesting that the company, most famous in India for its Note series of budget devices is working on a handset with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC.

Leak Suggests Upcoming Xiaomi Device to Feature SD 870, Curved Display

Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Launch In India

According to Weibo user Bald Panda, this new smartphone will come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC, alongside features such as a 120Hz refresh rate featuring a curved display with a punch-hole styled notch to the top.

As per the leak, this display features a resolution of FHD+, instead of the 2K resolution which is common on the new Xiaomi flagships. Further bits of information are in relation to the optics of the device,

Gizchina News of the week

The Xiaomi device will supposedly feature a 108MP main shooter with a 20MP selfie shooter to the front. This device will also come with a secondary telephoto shooter with 3X optical zoom.

It will draw power from a 5000 mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. Unfortunately, the leak fails to mention the name of this new device, with no word on the launch timeline as well.

One thing that is worth noting is the presence of the affordable Snapdragon 870 SoC, hinting at the chances of the device being part of Xiaomi’s 11 series or the Redmi K series of devices.

What Else is the Company Working On?

Xiaomi Civi

In other news, Wang Hua, the head of Xiaomi’s public relations, responded to the news on Weibo, saying: “It seems that everyone likes huge supplements. I think too much, but I have never heard of it.”

His Weibo post clearly denies knowledge of any flagship Xiaomi Civi Pro. This means that there should be no plans for this model and the top configuration flagship of this 4K screen smartphone will not launch.

However, we can not completely rule out the certification and TENAA listing of this model. Perhaps, Xiaomi has a smartphone in the works, not just a high-end Xiaomi Civi.
