Shortly after the iPhone 13 announcements, Apple rolled out iOS 15 to all eligible devices. However, this year has been one of the most complicated years for iOS releases. iOS 15 was rolled out with several bugs that affected hundreds of users. One of the most notable bugs was preventing people to unlock their smartphones via Apple Watch. Apple has been working hard since then to provide an update that will address these issues. Recently, the company rolled out iOS 15.0.1 with a plethora of bug fixes. However, it seems that iOS 15.1 will come soon as the true stable version of iOS 15.
iOS 15.1 rollout starts in less than two weeks
Apple has been ironing the bugs with the iOS 15.1 build which is currently in the beta stage. However, a new report from Twitter users @RobertCFO obtained information from an Apple Product Security Team member about the final build’s release date.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the leaked email, iOS 15.1 and iPad OS 15.1 will release on October 25. That is exactly one week after Apple’s upcoming “Unleashed event”. this particular event will happen on October 18 and will bring novelties for the MacBook lineup and also should see the official rollout of macOS Monterey. This falls in line with Apple’s usual software update policy of releasing new software one week after its events.
According to reports, iOS 15.1 will bring SharePlay which lets you remotely watch and listen to streaming content with your friends via FaceTime. It will also add ProRes video support which is Apple’s new video codec. We also expect COVID-19 vaccination document support in the Wallet app and bug fixes for the known issues in iOS 15.
Apple’s “Unleashed” event
Because iOS 15.1 rollout will happen one week after the Unleashed event, we may see the OS making brief apparitions at the event. That’s just mere speculation as the event is expected to focus in the computer department. Talking about the event, Apple is expected to reveal a new set of Mac laptops. There are two models with 14-inch and 16-inch displays and 2x Retina Resolution. The new laptops should also undo some changes introduced with the 2016 models. The touch bar will be dropped in favor of the regular buttons. Moreover, the HDMI port will be added back to the lineup.
In terms of performance, the new laptops will bring Apple M1X which has more power and support for more RAM. The devices will come with macOS Monterey which should see its stable rollout at the event.
Doesn’t seem very promising the whole thing since that email should have been treated as confidential from Antony, the guy probably responsible for apple security or whatever bla bla bla, and the email it self leaked so easily to the public. Something doesn’t seems right here, doesn’t it?
