Google’s latest flagships, the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are now getting a new update that brings with it support for heart rate tracking and respiratory tracking features, tools that are exclusive to Pixel series smartphones as of now.

The new features first came to the Pixel series devices in March of 2021, but were unavailable in the Google Fit application on the Pixel 6 Pro or vanilla 6 at the time of launch.

Pixel 6

A few of the Google Pixel 6 owners have not gotten this feature as of the time of writing this article, but by and large, this feature seems to be rolling out to both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro units across the world.

This feature could be in early access, so beware of any oddity in the results, since Google might be working on fixing the same, so try not to panic in case of any off the charts reading.

If you wish to try it out, you can do so via the Google Fit application, but you will need to update the app on your Pixel 6 series smartphone to get this feature to work.

Google has mentioned that this feature will come to other Android handsets, but we do not know as to when we can expect to see these useful features on non-Pixel handsets. Users owning the Pixel 3 or 3XL and smartphones launched after can also gain access to these features.

What Else Do We Know About the Devices?

Pixel 6

In other Pixel news, itt seems that Google has quietly released an update that brings with it the Adaptive Sound feature for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to adjust the audio quality of the smartphone depending on the surrounding.

This feature first arrived on Google’s best devices from 2020, namely the Pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a 5G as part of a late year feature drop in 2020. At the time of launch this feature was not present on the Pixel 6.

Twitter user Mishaal Rahman however seems to have found the feature on his Pixel 6. In case you missed it, this feature makes use of the microphones on your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro to adjust the audio equalizer settings on the basis of the surroundings.

It works, as per Google by assessing the acoustics around you. Overall, it aims to provide better audio quality for Pixel users, which works quite well especially if there are audio issues.
