The latest report from Apple insiders claims that the company has not given up on the research and development of Touch ID. Furthermore, the report claims that next year’s iPhone 14 may come with an on-screen fingerprint sensor. The report from LeaksApplePro claims that Apple is thinking about how to use Touch ID on the iPhone 14. Also, the most likely solution is the on-screen fingerprint sensor. Looking at comments from iPhone users, it appears that they want this feature.

iPhone 14 Max

For many years, the iPhone has been using Face ID as its only Biometric feature. Since the advent of the coronavirus, it has become very uncomfortable to use Face ID. Although Apple has a solution for this, it requires that the iPhone user must have an Apple watch. This is not entirely feasible for many iPhone users. As a supplement, Touch ID is still meaningful for the iPhone. Of course, Face ID is unlikely to be abandoned by Apple, so the two technologies should complement each other.

Prior to this, Kuo Ming-Chi said in a report that Apple expects to launch an iPhone that supports on-screen fingerprint technology in 2023. Furthermore, the first foldable smartphone may arrive in 2024. Of course, we can not rule out the possibility of Apple developing more advanced technology. This will depend on the mass production of related technologies.

Apple iPhone 14 specifications

As of now, there is not much information about the iPhone 14 series. However, from the reports so far, the regular iPhone 14, as well as the Max model, will use a 6.06-inch screen. However, the iPhone 14 Pro and the Pro Max models will come with a larger 6.68 inches display. In addition, the two basic versions will use LTPS displays. However, the Pro models (Pro and Pro Max) will come with LTPO screens. From this point of view, it appears that the iPhone 14 Max has a lower positioning than the Pro model.

In terms of core configuration, the Apple iPhone 14 series will come with a new Bionic A16 processor. This chip is built with a 4nm manufacturing process. Except for the basic version of the iPhone 14 which still uses a dual rear camera setup, the other three models all come with a triple rear camera setup. At the same time, the main camera of the two high-profile models will be upgraded. We expect a 1/1.3-inch 48MP sensor, and there are reports that the new 48MP camera may be used for an ultra-wide lens.
