Apparently, Vivo’s 2021 ending will be marked with the arrival of a bunch of new mid-range and low-end smartphones. Last year, the company waited until the last days of December to unveil its Vivo X60 series. It has set a standard for two Vivo X-series in a year. As a result, we still have hope for a last-minute launch for the Vivo X80 series, at least in China. For now, however, the company will keep bringing mid-range smartphones for its Y-series. The company is set to release a new smartphone tomorrow in Malaysia dubbed Vivo Y76 5G. Today, some of its key specifications have been revealed.

A day before the official debut, the Vivo Y76 5G has made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmark website with model number V2124. The benchmark website confirms the presence of MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC alongside 8 GB of RAM. The MediaTek Dimensity 700 isn’t a new chipset and has been present in a myriad of low-end smartphones that come to offer 5G connectivity. It boasts two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz plus six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2 GHz. This chip uses TSMC’s 7 nm fabrication process and comes with an integrated ARM Mali-G57 MP2 GPU and a 5G modem. This chipset is also behind other smartphones such as Redmi Note 10T, POCO M3 Pro 5G, Realme 8 5G, and Samsung Galaxy A22 5G.

The processor is not the most powerful but can run basic tasks without any hassle. Even moderate gaming will be good with this chipset, but don’t expect high-quality graphics and a smooth frame rate on everything. The multitasking experience will be awesome with the 8 GB of RAM. The device scores 522 points in the single-core experience while the multi-core department boasts 1,716 points. The last detail includes Android 11 which confirms FuntouchOS on top.
